Xpeng P7 Chip Upgrade Progress Announced: Project Initiated, Expected Gradual Upgrade in October Next Year

Xpeng Motors' smart experience director, Yu Tong, announced the chip upgrade progress for the Xpeng P7.

According to previous reports, on December 12th, Xpeng Motors announced that 7251 P7 owners successfully crowdfunded for chip upgrades, with the memory of the older P7 models also being increased to 16GB after the chip refresh.

It is reported that the Xpeng P7 chip upgrade has been initiated internally, with all budget approvals completed; business processes, procurement processes, and assessments have been finalized, and orders for custom 8295P chips have been placed with partners; plans are to start gradually replacing chips around October next year.

Xpeng promises to update the P7 chip upgrade progress monthly, with internal monitoring on a weekly basis. After the completion of the chip crowdfunding hardware OTA, Xpeng will optimize the Tianji system for the P7, aligning the cabin experience with the Tianji system and deploying functions as much as possible.

Additionally, crowdfunding participants will receive a small nightlight as a gift. The nightlight is composed of a picture frame and a brand-new Xavier chip, which has been specially processed to prevent resale. It is expected to be developed in the first or second quarter of next year and will be sent to users gradually.
