China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: Passenger Car Sales Reached 3.001 Million Units in November 2024, a Year-on-Year Increase of 15.2%
China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released data today, in November 2024, passenger car production and sales were completed at 3.109 million and 3.001 million units respectively, with a month-on-month increase of 14.9% and 9%, and a year-on-year increase of 14.9% and 15.2% respectively. From January to November 2024, passenger car production and sales were completed at 24.459 million and 24.435 million units respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 4.3% and 5% respectively.

In November 2024, among the main varieties of passenger cars, compared with the previous month, the production and sales of the four major types of passenger cars all showed varying degrees of growth; compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of basic passenger cars (sedans) showed a slight increase, and the production and sales of the other three types of passenger cars showed a significant double-digit growth.
From January to November 2024, compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) showed a slight increase, the production of crossover passenger cars increased while sales decreased, the production of basic passenger cars (sedans) slightly decreased while sales slightly increased, and the production and sales of multi-purpose passenger vehicles (MPVs) slightly decreased.
Domestic sales of passenger cars in November 2024 were 2.582 million units, with a month-on-month increase of 12.8% and a year-on-year increase of 17.5%; from January to November 2024, domestic sales of passenger cars were 19.916 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 1.9%.
Passenger car exports in November 2024 were 419,000 units, with a month-on-month decrease of 9.9% and a year-on-year increase of 3.2%; from January to November 2024, passenger car exports were 4.52 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 21.5%.
In November, new energy vehicle production and sales were completed at 1.566 million and 1.512 million units respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 45.8% and 47.4% respectively, with new energy vehicle sales accounting for 45.6% of total new vehicle sales.
From January to November, new energy vehicle production and sales were completed at 11.345 million and 11.262 million units respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 34.6% and 35.6% respectively, with new energy vehicle sales reaching 40.3% of total new vehicle sales.
