China Auto Research Report: AITO New M7 is the Best-Selling New Force SUV

On December 26th, a data research institution and China Auto Research jointly released a report titled “2024 Mid-to-Large SUV Industry Report” (hereinafter referred to as “the Report”). The report delves into the consumer portrait, consumption needs, brand recognition, and product expectations of current domestic mid-to-large SUV owners, analyzing the overall state of the domestic mid-to-large SUV consumer market.

Specifically, range, comfort, and intelligent driving are the core decision-making factors for mid-to-large SUV consumers when purchasing a vehicle. Consumers pay attention to the brand's intelligent quality, and when surveying consumers' expectations for forward-looking features of mid-to-large SUVs, “more intelligent assisted driving systems, widespread adoption of high-level autonomous driving” also ranks high on the list.

According to the report data, the AITO New M7 series has topped the sales of new force SUV models in 2024, with Ideal L6 and AITO M9 ranking second and third, respectively.

The report also depicts the consumer portrait of current domestic mid-to-large SUV owners: mostly married, middle-class young men with children, mainly focused on upgrading or replacing their vehicles. Their median age is 35, successful and health-conscious, with 85% being married and having children, an average family size of four, and an average annual income of 548,000 yuan, passionate about travel, outdoor sports, and family gatherings.

Furthermore, the report uses the performance of the AITO New M7 series as an example. The report indicates that the Hongmeng Smart Drive AITO New M7 series meets user needs in terms of intelligence, value for money, cost-effectiveness, and overall product strength. For instance, the AITO New M7 series is priced around 250,000 yuan and has achieved standard intelligent driving across the entire series, explaining the continuous impressive market performance of the AITO New M7 series since its launch.

It is worth mentioning that not long ago, Hongmeng Smart Drive officially announced that the cumulative delivery volume of the AITO New M7 for the year 2024 has exceeded 190,000 units. Additionally, in the retail sales ranking of new energy mid-to-large SUVs on Car Emperor for the past year, the AITO New M7 topped the list with 205,470 units sold.

AITO (Chinese: 问界; pinyin: Wènjiè) is a Chinese electric vehicle marque of Chinese vehicle manufacturer Seres Group and multinational technology corporation Huawei in 2021.The marque offers electric cars with autonomous driving systems and the HarmonyOS operating system. AITO is the first brand under Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA, 鸿蒙智行) collaboration model, in which Huawei provides full-stack intelligent vehicle solutions for traditional auto manufacturers. Huawei also announced that other manufacturer partners such as Chery, BAIC Motor, and JAC Motors will apply the similar business model. The name AITO stands for "Adding Intelligence to Auto".
